"Angel of Death" is a romance drama with one sided love and the trope is friends to lovers. This manhwa is not that popular but it caught my attention with their trailer video on webtoon. I felt like if I don't review this people will be missing out an amazing manhwa story.

Plot

Azriel is angel of death, who takes human to the after life. He has no compassion he only knows to do his duty. He finds it time of waste to interact with the humans, so he takes their soul forcefully without giving him them some comfort, because he's ruthless and powerful.

One day Azriel's life changed because of a human girl who's name is Avery, she was dying as her soul was leaving her body. She didn't want to leave her sister Jo behind as her sister was crying. When Azriel tried to take Avery with him she was resistant and Azriel did not show any mercy, he was forcing his powers on her which caused her soul to get lost in the way of the process. Basically he failed to reap the soul of Avery.

God came to know about the situation and saw how Azriel didn't care about the lost soul. It is said that lost soul no longer remembers that they were once a human being which causes them to become a evil spirit.

God was really angry about Azriel's actions as he had no compassion in his guidance. God decided to punish Azriel and sent the fallen angel to earth. Azriel now has to find the soul of Avery until than he can not return to his old life.

Azriel was frustrated because he didn't expect something like this to happen. He was teleported into the same hospital Avery was in and he went to Avery's room. Meanwhile Jo came and got shocked to see Azriel as she has already seen him before but could not recall her memories.

Azriel plans to use Jo to guide him to find the soul of Avery. Jo already saw him when he was trying to take his sister's soul and now there's a barrier between them. For the first time Azriel has found someone who is as fierce as him. Will the romance take over their goals?

Review

I really like the rivalry type of relationship, I can't believe that I am reading a manhwa with this kind of unique plot. Well, I am really tired of reading the same old love stories but this manhwa will spice up the situations for us. As you can already see how strong the character personalities are. The manhwa stands out for it's characters.

The art is phenomenal, I have not seen this type of art and it's very rare plus unique. I love the colorings they are so vibrant and it adds life to the manhwa. The characters are so attractive and they look desirable as well.

What I liked the most is their expression's, it looks genuine and real. Nothing has ever felt exaggerated. I really admire unique art style. If you're bored of the same looking arts then this manhwa will refresh your mind. There's sense of humour and lots of comedy, the drawing gets worse in funny scenarios.

I really like the character of Azriel he is very confident in what he does. He is egoistic and I think Jo is a perfect match for him. By staying with Jo he will find his root to the ground, I feel for that reason God has punished him to stay with the humans as a human being to experience the how to live as a human being and the pain of death.

God has different plans for him as he will soon find his love interest with Jo. But Azriel was sent to earth for one purpose only which is go find the soul of Avery and if he continues to like the human world then how will he able to return to his place? because they can never be together like this as far as I know.

I liked how compassionate God is about his creation and wanted to teach Azriel as lesson and I think he deserved it because he was really cruel towards the human being. Azriel now will realize how hard the life is being a human and go through all of the emotion which a human goes through. The plot is interesting for this reason and I find it very addictive.

I feel this manhwa deserves appreciation, I would encourage everyone to read this manhwa if you want something refreshing and romantic then this manhwa is a good choice. The chapters are not that long so it will take a while to finish it. If I was asked to rate this then I will give it a solid 10.
