I suppose that in cities with ports or near the sea, this phenomenon isn’t all that unusual, considering everything that happened during the colonial era and the battles or wars for independence. And on a more practical note, when I’ve heard someone say my name or call out to me late at night, we always keep “the essentials” on hand at home: holy salt, holy water, holy oil from an exorcist’s Mass, palm crosses, rosaries in every room—just in case the atmosphere gets heavy.
