Adapa and the Story of Eden

Adapa is a central figure in Sumerian mythology, often considered a precursor to the Biblical Adam. In the Sumerian myth, Adapa was a wise man, the "first man," and a servant of the god Enki (one of the Anunnaki). He is believed to have been created by Enki as part of an experiment to improve humanity, and he was granted extraordinary wisdom.
