Following a trail at a crossroads.

Have you ever followed a hare's trail, whether it wants to or not, leaving its mark on the surface of freshly fallen snow?

It seems simple: you see a distinctive trail and follow it, but at some point you realize the hare has deceived you. It ran back and forth in its own tracks, then made a powerful leap to the side, and the trail you were following ended.

You don't have to be a hunter to make such a mistake; it's enough to spend a lot of time searching for the only reliable information, for example, about raising broiler chickens. An entire detective novel could be written about this today, because, as in any detective story, something is found, something can be lost, and someone loses something.

For example, relying on unfound information can waste your time and money, because any farming business requires some investment.

Even though we have the internet today, finding a quality recipe, say, the ideal recipe for raising this bird, is still difficult; many questions arise.

And trying to figure them out, I feel like I'm standing at a crossroads, or on the shore of a pond. If you go left, you lose; if you go right, you win... and left and right depend on whether you're facing the pond or not. It's not easy, lol.

As I understand it, there are two schools of thought among poultry farmers: some advocate raising broilers with a vitamin and antibiotic supplement (I personally side with them), while others advise abandoning all that and growing, as they say, organic produce.

But here's where the question arises: broiler chickens are genetically engineered for weight gain, but they also have very weak immune systems. For organic farming, it's better to choose a different breed, or a broiler chicken for meat and egg production.

Eco-farmers often report significant losses in chicks between 14 and 21 days old. During this time, the chicks will eat a fair amount of expensive feed, and you'll spend a significant amount of electricity heating them and incubating the eggs, if you're going to do that, not to mention buying day-old or pre-grown chicks... and pre-grown chicks are a whole other topic.

I want to avoid such mistakes and not end up like the person who spent a long time walking along slippery, narrow walkways looking for a boat, only to find it full of holes.

I didn't think trying to find the right path could be such a tiring task, but it's better to be tired today than to be energetic tomorrow, but with the understanding that I've made a ton of mistakes.

So, I wonder why people who raise broiler chickens and try to teach others to do the same don't, for example, give their chickens a drink of chamomile and shale tea, as is done when raising more demanding turkey poults, but instead emphasize the quality of the water they feed their birds?
